Ethiopia is said to be the birthplace of the Arabica coffee tree. It thrives best at altitudes of 1200–1800 meters. The main harvest is from October to December. Only 2% of the coffee harvest comes from state-owned farms. Almost half the country's population works on a coffee farm, making coffee exports a vital source of income for the country and its people.
This organic and fair trade specialty coffee displays intensely fruity notes reminiscent of berries. Its surprisingly light body reveals hints of bergamot and chocolate. The sensory complexity is complemented by a caramel-like finish.
