Turm Kaffee unterstützt die International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA)
Der «Gender Equality in the Coffee Sector»-Bericht der International Coffee Organisation (ICO) zeigt, dass Frauen einen wesentlichen Teil zum globalen Kaffeesektor beitragen: je nach Region sind bis zu 70% der Arbeitskräfte in der Kaffeeproduktion Frauen. Trotz hoher Beteiligung zeigt der ICO-Bericht, dass Frauen einen systematisch geringeren Zugang zu Ressourcen wie Land, Krediten und Informationen haben als Männer.
Die 2003 gegründete Non-Profit-Organisation International Women's Coffee Alliance (IWCA) hat eine klare Mission: Frauen in der internationalen Kaffee-Gemeinschaft zu befähigen und deren Beteiligung in allen Aspekten der Kaffeeindustrie zu fördern.
