Costa Rica Tarrazú

South of Costa Rica’s capital, San José, the majestic mountains of Tarrazú rise toward the Pacific coast. This renowned coffee-growing region is often affectionately referred to as the “land of the saints,” as its mild climate allows for excellent harvests of outstanding Strictly Hard Bean Arabica coffee. The coffee is cultivated at elevations ranging from 1,200 to 2,000 meters above sea level on the slopes of several volcanoes.

The mineral-rich volcanic soil, high altitude, and perfectly balanced climate of sunshine, temperature, and rainfall create ideal conditions for producing this exceptional coffee. The harvest season runs from December to February. After picking, the ripe red cherries are washed and then dried in large drum dryers to a moisture content of 12%.

Our Costa Rica Tarrazú coffee is characterized by flavor notes of caramel, nutmeg, and hazelnut. Combined with its vibrant acidity and subtle hints of red berries, this variety delivers a bold yet well-rounded taste with a smooth finish.
